A self-taught artist with a deep passion for creativity in all its forms. Her artistic journey spans watercolor painting, photography, handmade goods, and textile arts. Sewing, in particular, holds a special place in her heart, a craft that was taught to her by her mom at the age of five. She rediscovered the craft after becoming a mother herself and has been creating ever since.
She believes in the joy and healing power of working with your hands, and is excited to share her skills with both kids and adults in a fun, welcoming environment.

Patty Jakob TWEENS
(9 to 12 years)

This weekly class invites kids ages 9-12 to slow down, explore, and build their skills in the timeless world of Textile Arts.

Through hands-on projects and playful experimentation, students will learn the foundations of hand sewing, embroidery, mending, fabric stamping, and even try out simple sewing machine techniques, all at a relaxed pace.

Rather than rushing through techniques, we’ll focus on building confidence, creativity , and craftsmanship over time. These classes nurture problem solving, artistic expression and patience and fine motor skills.

Perfect class for young makers who love crafting or simply working with their hands.

Sewing can be a creative outlet that teens love. This is a hands on sewing class perfect for beginners and curious makers. Learn sewing machine basics while working on projects like tote bags, scrunchies, simple accessories, and once the student has achieved a better level of sewing they can move on to pattern tracing in order to make a garment. It’s a great way for teens to build skills, confidence, and have fun making something with their own hands!!

Sewing

A welcoming class designed to help you reconnect with your creativity while learning a practical and rewarding skill. In this relaxed setting, you’ll explore the basics of sewing—from threading and using a sewing machine to creating simple projects such as napkins, cushions, and pouches. We will occasionally work with designer patterns, learning how to trace and follow them, but this is not a dressmaking or pattern-drafting course. The focus of the class—whether for adults or children—is on enjoying the creative process, building confidence, and completing step-by-step projects provided by the instructor. As students progress, they can gradually take on larger and more advanced projects. This class is also a great opportunity to become comfortable using a sewing machine, develop technical skills, and connect with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.

No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.  A wonderful way to unwind, stitch by stitch.
